Time Clock

A business running several shifts was already paying for the time clock module bundled with its point of sale, and hours still ended up written by hand every time someone forgot to punch. At the end of the week somebody had to sit down and add them up.

We built a time clock that runs on any tablet. The employee types a code, sees the full week —in, out, break and hours for every day— and presses Send. The system knows where they are in the day and only offers what comes next: if they are working it offers break or end of shift; if they are on break it offers coming back. There is no way to pick the wrong action.

The owner opens the panel and sees who is on the clock right now. If someone forgot to punch out, the shift closes on its own after the hours they configure and stays flagged in amber until it is fixed. They pick a week, a half-month, a month or any date range and download everything as Excel or PDF, with overtime counted week by week and estimated pay per employee. A single-employee PDF comes out as a timesheet with room for both signatures.

The Excel and PDF generators are written from scratch inside the system: no libraries, no Composer. It runs on any shared hosting with PHP 8 and MySQL and installs on the tablet as an app.
